WordUp – Listen, Learn, Express

It’s been more than a week since WordUp concluded, but the excitement still prevails with all of us at BigRock. The day was 20th September 2014, where some of the finest bloggers from all over India had assembled at Blue Frog, Mumbai to witness the GodFathers of blogging, share their tips and experiences.

Quite frankly we didn’t expect this level of awesomeness but what we experienced was beyond what we’ve ever imagined. It’s time we shared more about the event and at the same time relive the moments

With so many activities to cover throughout the day, registrations began as early as 9 am in the morning but we already had quite a crowd outside the venue by 8:30 am.

Each attendee at WordUp took home a goodie bag from BigRock which contained a music amp and a Free .ME domain along with hosting for a year.

An early morning event can always invite a lot of sleepy faces especially after a scrumptious breakfast but the guys at IndiBlogger had different plans. Their live band performance to the song WordUp by Korn left an audience of 150+ jumping out of their seats.

An electric start to the event was followed by an even awesome welcome note by our very own Nishank GopalKrishnan, Director –Marketing & Business Development, Bigrock.

Anoop, our enthusiastic emcee from IndiBlogger took the stage and set the ball rolling for the day. He was the man who ensured that the atmosphere was lively from the time we went live. The picture says it all 😉

It’s now time to meet the speakers and know about the topics that they spoke on:

1] Vinit Goenka – Keynote

2] Amit Agarwal – Blogging tips

3] Anshul Tewari – Blog Promotion

4] Sunit Singh and Lakshmi Rebecca – Chai with Sunit [Design]

5] Varun Krishnan – Monetization

6] Shree Krishna Chepuri – Legal aspects of Blogging

7] Scherezade Shroff – Day in the life of a blogger.

8] Harsh Agrawal – SEO

9] Snigdha Manchanda – Creative Writing.

Did we mention that there was some awesome food served at the venue. Breakfast, Lunch and high tea were all available for these cool bloggers and yes on request we did serve Jain food too 😉

We wanted to make this an event unique so we threw in a surprise standup comedy session by Bhavish Ailani. He sure knows how to tickle the funny bone 😀 Bhavish_Ailani_BigRock_WordUp

To make the entire event even more awesome we ran a lot of twitter contests and lucky draws that included some really cool prizes. Check it out Contest_BigRock_WordUp Contest_Prizes_WordUp_BigRock We wanted to thank each of our speakers in a special way and hence they were called on stage and presented with a personalized memento by Nishank. Yup he was Santa for the day 😉 Speakers_WordUp_BigRock   And not to forget a very special on stage Oscar style Selfie of all our speakers. Oscar_Selfie_WordUp_BigRock   word-up-selfie To wrap things up in style we had the guys from IndiBlogger take center stage along with the rest of the bloggers to headbang to a ROCKing song. The scene was simply electrifying. HeadBanging_BigRock_WordUp Before everyone parted ways “Ek Group Pic to banta hai” Group_Pic_WordUp_BigRock This was one event we just wished, it never ended. WordUp would have never been possible without the help of our sponsors .ME, the guys at IndiBlogger and our awesome BigRock team. Each and every one of you guys simply ROCK! As rightly said by the winner of best tweet of the day, we really did get a lot to learn and the entire experience of the event was of a completely different level.
